In almost summerlike weather - sunshine throughout and up to 25° on Sunday - we were able to hold our German Open at the Bernauer Segelclub Felden e.V. with 15 Asso teams.
With 14 boats from Germany and the Spirito from Switzerland, we were able to send a very strong starting field onto the course, even with little participation from abroad. There were 6 exciting and close races, with one exception. Poldo Fricke with team sailed always with a felt 1000 meters distance ahead and could use the string for his worst result, a second place.
On the places 2, 3 and 4 followed Luitpold, Paktun and Gerold.
The complete result list can be found at this Link.
The Bernauer Segelclub Felden organized for the first time an Asso99 regatta. Already in the run-up it became clear that we could expect an excellent realization. However, our expectations were far exceeded.
The organization on the water and on land was exemplary. Very good race management under Stefan Roth, experienced referees and the excellent team on land provided us with the best.
We had two photographers and a drone piolter on the water on our class press boat, generating over 50GB of raw footage for us. The guys are currently editing a film. As soon as that's done, we'll post it, of course. We were also lucky enough to have another professional photographer - Daniel Reiter - in the boat, who together with his pilot shot photos from the Cessna, depicting the complete regatta field from high altitude. Thank you all!
We are looking forward to the European Championship next year!
